ATB CYCLING PROGRAM

WELCOME TO THE 2020 ATB CYCLING PROGRAM

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, health, well being, and community matter more than ever. That’s why we’re still running the ATB Cycling Program this year—with a few changes to keep everyone safe.

Welcome to the Virtual ATB Cycling Program. Enjoy the same cycling camaraderie you love — as well as significant physical and mental health benefits — in a pandemic-safe way.

We’re excited that you’re along for the ride!

Our coaches will provide you with a weekly training program that can be completed on the road (using recommended safety practices) or on an indoor trainer. You’ll also receive personal challenges and cycling tips and tricks. This training program will help you gain speed, skill and strength until conditions allow us to resume our regular ATB cycling experience.

And don’t worry—we haven’t forgotten about the most important part of the ATB cycling experience. We’ll be hosting Virtual Happy Hours as part of the program. Stay tuned for details!

On May 4th we'll be unveiling our new Virtual Club page for our new and veteran members. Welcome to the club!

WHAT IS THE ATB CYCLING PROGRAM?

Team up with your friends at ATB to cycle, socialize and network over 16 weeks of training with professional coaching. This year’s virtual offering extends the ATB Cycling Program to ATB team members and clients, Alberta-wide! Once conditions allow, we’ll also resume meeting upon the road with you for weekly outdoor rides, post-ride meetups and cycling events.

From complete beginners to veterans, there’s room (and customizable training) for everyone on this ride. So saddle up and join the virtual peloton!

MEET YOUR HEAD COACHES

Trev Williams, Calgary Head Coach

Growing up in an active family and raised surrounded by the community of the local run club, Trev started coaching and gathering similar communities at quite a young age. While completing his Master's at UVic, Trev lead and expanded the University Triathlon club, then while completing his doctorate at UofC, he helped found and lead the largest road cycling club in Alberta. During these times, he realized the impact of a supportive community to enable the enjoyment of a hobby for a lifetime. In 2010, Trev founded The Doctrine, a company centered on creating communities based around healthy lifestyles and fundamentally sound coaching of cycling, running, and triathlon. Trev owns two indoor cycling studios where members enjoy coaching from his team, connecting with other members, and progressing their knowledge and skill of cycling and running throughout the winter. Over the summer he and his team lead corporate clubs outside that use cycling as an opportunity to network, connect socially, and become more competent cyclists.

Kevin Masters, Edmonton Head Coach

Kevin knows cycling—he’s completed ten Ironmans, including two Hawaii Ironman Championships. His best finish came in 2003 at Ironman Canada with a time of 9 hours 36 minutes. After a four year break from triathlon to focus on business and family Kevin returned to Ironman Whistler 2013 where he finished seventh overall and with the fastest run time of all age groups.

Though all of his clients are not elite athletes, Kevin treats them all as if they are. Kevin’s aim is continuous improvement—both of his athletes and his coaching skills.
